Hello! I'm Federica — a passionate and experienced language tutor offering personalized lessons in Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.

My journey in education began in 2014 when I earned a Level 2 qualification in Early Years while working as a nanny. That experience sparked a deep passion for child development and education. I soon gained hands-on experience as a nursery assistant in various settings, which further fueled my desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners.

In 2017, I began a BA degree in Modern Languages and Cultures at Birkbeck University, balancing my studies with a role as a Teaching Assistant at Glebe School, later moving to St. Peter Chanel Primary School. I proudly graduated in 2020 and began my role as an EAL HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) at Harris Academy Morden. In this position, I honed my skills in planning and delivering engaging, student-centred English language lessons tailored to the diverse learning needs of EAL (English as an Additional Language) students. 

Through my training with Harris Initial Teacher Education (HITE), I gained a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) in partnership with Kingston University. This experience equipped me with effective classroom management strategies and a deep understanding of how to support diverse learners.

I developed a reflective teaching practice, allowing me to quickly identify and address misconceptions, adapt my approach, and ensure every student makes meaningful progress.

I later worked as a Qualified Teacher at Harris Academies, Wilmington Grammar School for Girls, and other school settings — further refining my teaching approach and deepening my experience across age groups and learning styles.

I'm particularly inspired by Gianfranco Conti’s teaching methods, which emphasize cognitive load management. By breaking down complex concepts into manageable chunks and using effective modeling techniques, I strive to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students can thrive without feeling overwhelmed.

Now, I bring this passion and experience to my language tutoring. Whether you're just starting out or looking to build fluency, my goal is to make learning Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese engaging, effective, and tailored to your unique learning style.
